Translation

By the grace of the Timeless Being, and Guru Nanak, by the favour of Guru Gobind Singh, and at the orders of the Crown Prince, Kanwar Nau Nihal Singh, this newly ready-made war winner cannon was set up, pleasing the Shah. This striker, called “The Divine Provider”, was assembled in the gun factory of General Tej Singh during the year 1897 [AD 1840] in Lahore

Note:

This gun was commissioned by Ranjit Singh’s grandson and briefly 3rd Maharajah of the Sikh Kingdom.   Kanwar Nau Nihal Singh reign (8 October 1839 – 5 November 1840) was sadly cut short when he was likely assassinated by those close to him.
