Translation

By the grace of the Eternal Emperor, the Lord of Gorkha, and by the command of the Highly Successful, Valiant Emperor Ranjit Singh, This is the cannon called “Hero’s Mouth”, Assembled in the factory of Daru Saltanat [Royal Kingdom] in Lahore, under the supervision of Javahir Mal, during the year 1894 [AD 1837], work done by the sons of Sidha Singh

Note:

The references to Sidha Singh or Subh Singh could be the same person.   A romanticised interpretation of the reference “Sons of Sidha Singh” could be a reference to Rani Sada Kaur Singh who was the ruler of the Kanhyaiya Misl, who became Ranjit Singh’s mother in law and was a great source of support to him and was hugely admired throughout the Kingdom.   Hence, a romanticised interpretation of the  “Sons of Sidha” could be a reference to all Sikhs who saw her as a Mother figure.
