Oh, [by the] grace of the Timeless Being, by means of the commands of the Valiant and Highly Successful Emperor Ranjit Singh, this gun [named] “Giv-Ban” [was constructed] under the superintendence of Javahir mal, in the arsenal of Subh Singh, in the Daru’s Saltanat [Royal Kingdom] in Lahore, during the year 1877 [AD 1820] under General [Field Marshall] Tej Singh

Note:

This is likely reference to Giv – the legandary Iranian Knight from the epic Poem Shahnameh [Book of Kings].   If so, this shows how much Ranjit Singh liked to listen to epic tales and poems and drew on them for inspiration.
