One of the few Inscriptions to feature Kharak Singh, Ranjit Singh’s eldest Son and heir.    This features some of the popular titles bestowed to Ranjit Singh such as Padishah Jammah, which describes the age of a great King.   The Yudhisthira, describes one who is steady in war.   The title is likely taken from the fabled epic Mahabrarata.  In the epic Yudhisthira was the the eldest among the five Pandava brothers and was a legendary warrior always steadfast in battle.

By grace of the Timeless Venerated, the gun called “God’s Rocket” during the time of the Padishah Jammah [Age of the Great King], The Yudhisthira [One who is steady in war] and the shine of this epoch, Maharajah Adhiraj [King of Kings] Ranjit Singh, The Valiant One, may his reign last eternal, by the favourite courtier of the Throne’s seat, the Sultan’s boon companion with special status, His Highness, the Commander-in-Chief Kharak Singh had this gun prepared [for the mould], in the year 1895 of the Bikramajit (Vikramaditya) era, corresponding to the year 1254 [AD 1838] from the Hegira, Under the supervision of gunsmith Bagay Khan
