By the Holy Timeless Venerated, Winner of the Gorkhas, by virtue of the Divine Being, and by virtue of Guru Nanak and the grace of Gobind Singh, by Order of the Heroic Emperor Ranjit Singh, this newly ready-made cannon was brought into existence and is named “Foe Smasher” and was built in the gun factory of High Commander Tej Singh in the 1890 [AD 1837] in the Daru’s Saltanat [Royal Kingdom] of Lahore, in the workshop of Subh Singh
